The challenge
A planner only works if it gets opened, and the students who most need one are the least likely to open a traditional one.
The design problem was engaging genuine teen attention without becoming just another distraction; making gamification meaningful rather than gimmicky; keeping the experience simple enough for low-effort daily use; and handling the added responsibility of building for a younger audience, privacy and age-appropriateness included.
How we built it
SchoolQuest applies game mechanics to everyday school organization, meeting teens where they already are: on their phones.
